LĂLLĂbaby announced a voluntary recall of their Active Series carriers after issues with the chest clip were brought to their attention. Reports of the sliding chest-clip strap detaching from the carrier prompted the recall, with the malfunction resulting in a fall hazard.
The recall was announced on November 15th, and pertains to units bought online from LILLEbaby.com and Amazon.com. Carriers were purchased from September 2018 through October 2018, for about $160.
About 6,600 units were sold in the US and Canada. If you have one of these carriers, you can contact LĂLLĂbaby for a free replacement carrier, and a full refund.
And while youâre waiting for your new carrier, donât use your old one. Although no injuries have been reported, thereâs no need to poke the bear.
No recall is fun to deal with, and some are even downright scary. The truth is even with extensive testing, sometimes things crap out. Recalls are an unfortunate, but normal part of the system that makes sure youâre getting the very best product out there.
Itâs also worth mentioning that recalls are one of the reasons you should fill out those little postcards that often come with your baby gear. You know the ones you rip off the tag, set on your counter, and eventually recycle because you canât remember why you saved it? (Maybe thatâs just me!)
If you fill those out and send them in, the company will alert you to the recall automatically. Boom. Youâre such an adult now.
Now go check your carrier.
